Recently, I took a trip down the street from campus to Goodwin’s, a 100% organic food and drink market, the 1st of its kind in the area.

I had the chance to get a tour of the place, from the cafe, to the bakery, then the dining area. There was so much too see/buy. Fresh seasonal fruits and veggies, canned and packaged goods, and various other items you’d find in a store.

I had passed it before, since the University Book Exchange store is right across the parking lot, but never went in. So, we walk in through the front entrance and headed straight to the cafe. See, I’m a coffee lover, and it was just calling my name.

We walked up to the counter and took a look at the menu when a woman who worked there asked us if we’d like to order. We explained that it was our first time there, and were just planning on looking. She then took it upon herself to to make two lattes for us to try. She asked us about our majors and aspirations, and told us a bit about herself as well.

She was really chill, and the coffee was delicious!

This time around I tried the cinnamon mocha latte, which I highly recommend.

The Goods

Aside from my overall experience there, I want to give you more information on the goods.

They have so much to offer, so I can’t explain it all here. But if there’s more you’d like to know check out their website here: http://www.goodwinsorganics.com/

Getting right to it, Goodwin’s is 100% organic. You’ll find the USDA Seal label on their products, which indicates that a product is 95% organic or more. Goodwin’s is beyond this standard.

The store is family owned. The hospitality there is extraordinary, exemplified by their quality of service and wholesomeness of the food they offer. You’ll find homemade freshly baked goods, food professionally prepared, teas, and coffees.

You can even become a member. Save 10% off the entire store, and 15% off your favorite items. Your favorite items are determined by those that you purchase most frequently. Cool, right? More so this – there’s the “Organic Meal Plan Option,” which you can find here. Just enter your first & last name and email to receive information on how it works, and a recap on membership benefits.

This place definitely has something to offer for everyone. So go on, and check it out.
